Thanks you very much for the article. As a PT it aligns with my bias towards exercise. I’m also a cycling enthusiast where the emphasis on more zone 2 endurance level activity vs the more strenuous has been emphasized due to recent research. This isn’t actually very new as I’m old enough to know but the research has been growing more recently to support this. I wonder if Dr.Inigo San Milan was among the researchers involved in the research or among those who you may have seen that helped clarify the material. He has become a high profile individual in this area as he has been associated with the current Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar. His recent success is now being scrutinized as the sport has had high profile scandal regarding how athletes achieve success. It’s a sport which is a crucible for recovery and resilience to succeed which can be achieved in many ways, some legal, some not so legal. Dr. San Millan currently works at a Colorado University in Boulder where his research is aimed not just sport but the implications of mitochondrial efficacy in all disease states. If I recall correctly it’s blood lactate levels that’s the marker by which they evaluate the status of the individual. Hope this wasn’t too much but metabolic health and HRV I find very interesting and may have a significant role in Persistent pain states.
